About

Hey there, I am a third year undergraduate student under Electrical engineering discipline at IIT Indore. I am interested in the aspects of Astronomy related to Electrical engineering, such as signal processing, design. I am also interested in applications of Deep learning/machine learning in Astronomy. I am also a dabbler in Physics and enjoy solving problems from Maths Olympiads. I love to talk, and love explaining complex concepts to people.

Avada Kedavra! There, I said it (wrote it, my bad). But I am a muggleborn (maybe a squib, don't know if my parents can do magic, but I can't, and I am sure about it)

Club Activities
Exoplanets

I was involved in phase 1 of exoplanets. The work involved reading fits files, plotting the light curve from the data, data cleaning and subsequent calculation of parameters of the planet like the surface temperature, orbital inclination, distance from the star, radius of the planet and star. It was followed by a workshop where I taught students from my college how to use Python to do what I had done. It was followed by a Hackathon

Conducted quiz

Conducted a quiz, which saw good participation from the college students.

Pulsar data analysis

Using a time series data of the Vela Pulsar from the Ooty radio telescope, I used several statistical techniques and signal processing techniques to plot the dynamic spectrum, and hence the folded light curve for the pulsar, and used that to find information about the pulsar, such as distance to the pulsar, orbital period of the pulsar, etc.

Plotting galaxy rotation curve

Using a horn antenna, tried to take observations and used it for plotting the galaxy rotation curve, which is basically plotting the orbital speed of the galaxy at a certain distance from the center of the galaxy. The data would be further used to map H1 in the galaxy and to calculate the distribution of dark matter in the galaxy for explaining the rotation curve.

Conducted Apogee Quiz

Conducted a national level, open to all, Astronomy quiz cum olympiad having two different participation categories. The event witnessed good participation from students across various schools and colleges.

Participated in Swantenna Antenna design competition

Work in progress!
