Exoplanets

Exoplanets are planets, much like the ones orbiting our sun, that we have discovered to be orbiting planets other than our Sun. The first exoplanets were found in the late 20th century (in 1989, 1992, or 1995, depending on ones definition of an exoplanet), and since then we have discovered thousands of these worlds orbiting other stars in the galaxy..

Understanding Universe

Our universe is both ancient and vast, and expanding out farther and faster every day. This accelerating universe, the dark energy that seems to be behind it, and other puzzles like the exact nature of the Big Bang and the early evolution of the universe are among the great puzzles of cosmology.

General Relativity

In 1905, Albert Einstein determined that the laws of physics are the same for all non-accelerating observers, and that the speed of light in a vacuum was independent of the motion of all observers. This was the theory of special relativity. It introduced a new framework for all of physics and proposed new concepts of space and time.
